Recently reopened Bankss pub with a slightly run down feel , there are two rooms served by a central bar ,its pretty basic in here but very friendly , the locals are a bunch of characters , only Bankss Mild and Bitter on , the Mild was OK . Its ok in here , i would not go out of my way to drink here but would definatley pop in if in the area

Basic boozer situated over two rooms around a central bar. Banks Mild and Bitter available, cheap and in good shape. A lot of this pub seems to have stopped in time during the late 60’s. Dart board available as well as a real fire. The interior is surprisingly high-ceilinged though it’s a bit gloomy inside and it feels like the place has seen better days eg the pub honours board has not updated since 2005 despite the haul of trophies above the bar. Cobs available for £1.30. The welcome was friendly which made a big difference. Not one to make a big effort for but could be a winner with a bit of TLC.

The Grosvenor Arms is a stand alone pub that is just off the st johns shopping area up henwick road.
Once inside there were two rooms and i had a drink in the bar which was comfortable enough, when i visited the pub it was a Banks's tied house and there were two real als on the bar i had a drink of Banks's mild and this was a well kept pint the other beer was Banks's bitter.
