Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Gate Hangs Well

Fine, traditional pub in the centre of Headless Cross with a partly opened-out L-shaped layout. Slightly old-fashioned in terms of furniture and decoration, but none the worse for that. A darts match was in progress, and plenty of customers (including me) were also having an evening meal. With five of the six handpumps in use, I found the regular Tribute plus Abbot, Hooky, Purity Mad Goose and an excellent Butty Bach (£3.95).

Nice little traditional pub. We turned up at about 5 to 2 as they were about to shut but they happily let us have a beer. the ales were Mad goose, Tribute, Hooky, Abbot and Doom Bar. The 2 we tried were in good shape. Happy to call again.

Small old pub on traffic island, its a little old fashioned and sort of countryfied, like it has been here years before the houses etc that have appeared since.

There is a stone bar, beams , brasses and its tidy with padded benches around the walls and mainly stools around round tables elsewhere.

Its a decent enough place, a little dated but maybe thats what makes it. 6 real ales Mad Goose, Hooky, 6X, Tribute, Abbot and a guest, in this case Oakham Citra. The beer is kept well.
