Nice 17th-century half-timbered pub signed off the A44. Few cars in the car-park suggested we might find a spot inside on a dreadful Sunday afternoon (we'd passed a couple deemed too full) an indeed we bagged a spot by the inglenook fireplace, the only bit of the pub not set for eating, though the effect was spoiled somewhat by contemporary furniture. Anyway all very cosy and friendly, the TT Landlord was nice though requests for a top-up resulted in slightly less outrageous short measures. I suspect the lad pulling the pints hadn't been on the course.

Other features include a large room to the rear containing no furnishings apart from a pool table: I guess pool isn't allowed under the current rules; and a huge marquee which no-one was warm-blooded enough to brave,

Felt reasonably safe considering I was probably the only once jabbed among the assembled company. Could do with being better ventilated though.

Well worth a look, though my point score reflects the inept beer presentation.

A great pub, excellent location, could do with more real ale choice and food served in the afternoons on weekends and bank holidays

The Old chestnut is a cracking pub, and makes everyone feel welcome. The food is absolutely amazing, and they always have a perfect variation of beer/cider/wine/whatever you want! There's always some sort of event happening down there or across the road on the village green, though if you are looking for a peaceful pint, there are plenty of areas for that!

A wonderful pub, I guarantee you'll love it!

The Old Chestnut Tree
This pub has been taken over recently and the landlords are trying very hard to create the right atmosphere, they look after their real ales and have as standard Malvern Hills Black Pear. The pub is the classic old village pub, with even some very old cinema seats around the pool table! Outside the front of the pub is a cricket green which was being played on when we visited.
We visited this pub on August bank holiday Monday 2009, not expecting much of the beer to be left from the beer festival, but they still had 10 ales on the go! Some great ones including Wyre piddles plum beer in celebration of the harvest of plums.
Lower moor is within walking distance of Fladbury, and they happily quench the thirst of 4 legged friends as well as two!
