Lovely location - middle of nowhere and in the shadow of the southern part of the Malverns.

A couple of cottages knocked together, with parts dating from the 1480s. A former drovers pub for the cattlemen of wales making their way to London.

Hook Norton Tied house and GBG 2022 entry. My old hooky just about acceptable but possibly suffering from the heat a little.

Great home made food at a very reasonable price - including a mixed grill that contains both liver and kidneys. Used to be popular in the 80s.... less so today.

I think I will go back, just for that meal!

GBG 2010 entry with Hook Norton Hooky Bitter and Old Hooky, Church End What's The Fox Hat and Sharp's Doom Bar on offer.

A very old two roomed pub. After a mile or so drive down the country lanes from Birtsmorton Court, we entered the small room on the left hand side and sat next to the stone fireplace. Moving around was a little difficult while people were stood at the bar and anyone over 5ft 9 would have to duck under the low wooden ceiling beams- so I didn't really get to look in the bigger room.

The ale was fine, the food looked OK (they had a barbecue going outside on the car park) and everyone in there seemed friendly enough.
