Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Swan Inn

Excellent village pub, with an unspoilt multi-room interior around the central servery. Traditional public bar; a larger and more airy lounge; a small (disused) counter in the rear snug plus a separate side room. As a Bathams house, there are some of the characteristic dark-brown tilework in the corridors. Also has a simple beer garden at the back, but this is well placed to catch the evening sunshine. Just the regular Mild (£3.50) and Bitter on the various handpumps, but in a place like this, who's complaining?

Now a pub that sells Bathams is obviously going to get a good review.

And its in perfect condition here.

They have started advertising steaks at good value, so we thought we would check it out after a walk. The food ordering system is bizarre. You cant order food and drink at the same time. You cannot setup a tab. So one of you orders drinks at a central bar and the other goes through room after room looking for the little kiosk at the back where they take food orders.

When they are not serving punters delicious Bathams.

Eventually managed to get served (again) and food was excellent and quick to come out - but there must be a better way!

This is one of two rural Batham's pubs set a few miles to the South East of Kidderminster. The other one is the Plough at Shenstone. Both were part of the original eight pub estate that I visited way back in March 1983. Before taking over this pub in the early 1950s Batham's brewed almost entirely mild but they felt they should have a pale ale for rural Worcestershire drinkers and as a result Batham's Best was born.
Although set in an upmarket village as you would expect from Batham's this is a wholly traditional pub. There is a carpeted lounge on the left and a red tiled public bar to the right with a snug to the right again and a tiny room just behind the public bar. To the rear is a huge garden. I parked myself in the public bar where there were a few in on my Saturday midday visit.
Just Best and Mild were available. I had a couple of pints of Best (£2.60) which were excellent.
I couldn't remember that much about this place from over thirty years ago but thought it was superb.
There is an hourly daytime bus between Kidderminster and Bromsgrove on the main road at the top of the village and a less frequent one that goes through the village.

Bathams' pub, with large beer garden. Worth a visit, especially if the sun's out!
Also very good food available at good prices, which can be eaten in the resturaunt, lounge or garden. Tex-Mex is superb!
