Pretty good Spoons in my opinion with a decent choice of beers on. We had a quick lunch and the food was very good. When they get it right you just can't argue with the value for money in a Spoons.

Classic Wetherspoons experience.

Interesting Architecturally. Packed with AM punters. Only spare tables all covered in dirty glasses/plates.

I found a table and went to order. Very inefficient staff managing a 40 ft bar. Waited 10 minutes. Collected my stuff. Walked out again.

If it wasnt for the chance of a decent breakfast and the Good Beer Guide tick, I wouldn't ever bother.

This Spoons seems to have been an original pub. It doesn't really feel like that inside with a single long rectangular room, the bar on the left, a patio at the rear and some alcoves on the right. The beer choice was a different matter with no blanks, no doubling up, no available soon and no spurious ciders from the fridges. Beers available from the 12 hand pumps were the JDW Trio Of Doom, Sadler's Peaky Blinder & Squonk, Prescott Hill Climb, Sambrook's Red, Hawkshead Vienna Lager, Ringwood Old Thumper, Otter Fusion, Wood's Shropshire Lass and Hobgoblin Gold. I went for the Peaky Blinder as the drink with a Steak Club mixed grill (£6.99) which was considerably better than the one had in Cannock a fortnight ago. The beer was also excellent and the standard guest price here means it would have cost £2.35.
I thought this was a well above average Spoons.

This Spoons has prime location in the centre of town, and was once the main Hotel and former coaching house. The interior is one large room, which exits to the car park at the far end. The bar is over on the left hand side and featured 12 handpumps. The main feature here was the bank of booths along the right hand wall. We were lucky to find a beer from Byatts Brewery, Golden Imp on this visit.

Long open plan Wetherspoons with a lot of the usual layout, but there are boothes all along one wall and a panelled library at the top of a few steps at the end, with stained glass sky light.

Overall a nice enough example of a Wetherspoons, its comfortable and service was good.

Not sure how many real ales they have usually as I visited during the beer festival when there were 11 interesting brews, which seem very well kept.
