Will Larter left this review about The Little Pack Horse

A very small pub, as others have mentioned, with the entrance from the left, but I thought there were some further rooms to the rear - perhaps for dining? - but I didn't get a chance to explore. The bar counter is made of barrel staves and a slab of wood, and there were two beers on: I went for Hobsons Town Crier, which is not my favourite of their beers but was in very good condition. My first impression was that the heating was on too high and the music was too annoying. The barman took advantage of a quiet period to sit at a table outside the bar, and a comment I made about one of the songs seemed to open something, because we had a long and detailed discussion of child sexual abuse and the decision of the US supreme court to overturn Roe v Wade. The only other customer was drinking two pints while I nursed my half, and didn't join in - perhaps the loud music made it hard for him to hear what we were talking about. An unusual experience.

Old Boots left this review about The Little Pack Horse

Ancient low beamed proper old pub. L shaped, the counter as mentioned, is apparently made of old unwrapped barrels including the ends, there are four handpumps of local beers mainly from Hobsons on this occasion, one of the pulls is a fireman's "branch"; that's the bit he holds at the end of his hose (ooer Mrs). Decent enough keg choice with nationals and slightly better. The counter is festooned with brass plaques celebrating various locals and incorporating ads for local businesses. A range of pictures etc on the walls and a small but select pump clip collection over the counter. Entry is via an alley on the higher side. Could do without the loud canned music otherwise very pleasant, a must, and do it with the Brewery Tap if opening times allow.

This a wonderful traditional pub, bits of which date from the 15th century. Interesting dark wood (oak?) bar top with old wooden barrels pleasingly making up the curved bar frontage. Cosy interior with beams and a real fire. Three ales; Holdens Special, Bewdley Worcestershire Way and Bewdley Bah Humbug (a proper winter warmer in good nick). Could have done a session in here easily. Another top pub in a town that boasts more than its fair share of better boozers.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Little Pack Horse

Another fine pub, and a must when visiting Bewdley. Also Bewdley Brewery is only around the corner so the beer here hasn't far to travel. You enter the pub from the side door on the left where you enter the bar area. To the left of this was a small narrow room set up for dining.
The bar counter was 8 inch oak, which had warped and twisted in parts over time. The bar frontage was made up of old wooden barrels. The floor was tiled with terracotta tiles. Four ales to choose from, so I went for the Bewdley Sway and by the time we walked out, I was definitely swaying.

Oggwyn Great left this review about The Little Pack Horse

15th century pub that was formerly one of the Mad o`Rourkes chain , it is quite small in the main bar but there are a few more drinking areas further to the back of the pub , food has a good reputation and there are several handpulls with a mixture of nationals and local micros , my Bewdley Worcestershire Way being from the Brewery 25 yards down the road .
Its a decent enough pub .

Former Mad O'Rourke's pub. Compact around the bar area so it can feel busy but there are other rooms you can move to when you've been served. It's an old building with character so it's worth a visit, even though it's a little out of the way of the busiest part of town.

Cask ales include Spitfire, Tribute and Worcestershire Way.

The Packhorse provides excellent fare and is strongly recommended. Book for evening meals, as space is limited!
