E TA left this review about The New Calley Arms

An early Victorian village pub, previously a brew house, the name referring to the move of the business from a building opposite, now residential, some years ago. There is a car park, but not much by way of garden. The ground floor has been knocked into a single large bar, light and airy, which extends into an extension at one end. There is a good balance of dining tables and bar stools. The clientele are mainly locals. Four ales on draft, Ramsbury's Colonel Calley, the house ale, sits alongside Doombar, Bass and Prescott's Hill Climb on handpumps. The Colonel Calley in question was the local Life Guards officer decorated in the Boer War. Child friendly, many extended families eat meals here, but all are well behaved and the ambience is friendly and civilised. The beer was well kept, very enjoyable, while the food from a daily changing specials menu was well prepared. A decent village local, worth visiting.
