I popped into the Duke of Edinburgh on a recent Thursday afternoon, joining the after-work builder crowd. Available from the U-shaped bar was a standard selection of keg and two Arkell’s cask Ale offerings. Hot food is not available here. I spotted two televisions, one of which was off and the other was airing The Chase. There was no background music, but I did note the presence of a jukebox and live music was advertised for the upcoming Sunday. This is a dart centric pub with two boards to the right of the bar and another two boards in a sunken area in the right-hand side of the pub. The walls are adorned with dart memorabilia such as signed shorts and photos. There is ample parking to the left of the pub. This pub does not open until 15:00 Monday to Friday.
I found the service to be polite and I do like a game of darts so I would return to this basic local’s boozer if I found myself in the area again.

A Fair representation from Al still rings true today to a certain extent. The pub is heavily darts orientated so much so that as I walked in professional darts player Peter Manley was walking out.

L shaped bar area with TV's at either end with an open bar area with a few tables around the edges and rear with a downstairs darts area.

2 hand pumps but only 3B's available a common feature in a fair few Arkell's pubs in North Swindon.

Overall a fairly pleasant pub which is not what as I had expected prior to entering.

The Duke of Edinburgh is a sturdy looking pub on the busy cricklade road.
Once inside the pub seemed a bit rough and ready but i thought the pub was ok for a drink,as this is an Arkells tied house there were two of their beers on the bar i had a drink of Arkells 3B and this was a very nice drink the other beer was Arkells 2B.
The pub was quite busy on my visit.
