A village freehouse, an attractive ivy-clad house with limited parking. The Victorian building has been knocked through to create a single large L-shaped bar with three small fireplaces to indicate where the original rooms were. There is a mix of floorboards and carpets on the floors, and the décor is plain. There is a dartboard which, judging by the collection of darts trophies, sees a bit of action, and a projector with a large screen hangs from the ceiling. The walls sport black and white photos of the village in days gone by and there was pleasant background music emanating from the old speakers on the floor. There are several tables laid for diners, but we felt that eating was a little pricey for the type of food on offer. The locals were reasonably friendly, the barman seemed surprised to see strangers in his pub. Lager seems to be the favoured drink, and the only ale on draft was Ringwood Fortyniner, which was in reasonable condition, although I suspect it had been sitting for a while. There was a selection of Ringwood bottled beers available. I was surprised not to see any Sixpenny beers on, given the pub's proximity to the Sixpenny Brewery. The convivial atmosphere and reasonable beer make it somewhere I would be happy to drop into anytime for a pint.

Cute pub in pretty village. Very Quiet. Oldy-worldy on inside if not outside. Does have B£B but don't bother staying as not clean and overpriced. Much better B&Bs in nearby villages. Deffinitly visit for a Drink and lunch though - great food.
