aleand hearty left this review about Bay Horse

Medium sized roadside pub, owned by Clover Inns, found just a few hundred yards off J41 of the M1 on the A650. Converted from three cottages, it has a narrow, strip like interior on two levels, with a recess to the left of the bar, plus further space being offered by two stone extensions running along the front of the building.

The main part of the interior has exposed beams and a dark wooden bar, but overall feels a little dingy and run down. Print covered walls don’t really disguise the tired décor and peeling wallpaper. To the right of the bar there’s a pool table and a couple of overhead TVs at either end of the room. The extensions house a dining area and a relaxed seating area with low sofas.

At the bar, there was no beer on hand pull unfortunately, just the usual T-bar fonts dispensing smoothflow and cheap lagers. However, staff were friendly and welcoming during our visit, even helping to carry drinks to our table. Quite lively when we called on a Sunday lunchtime, but the atmosphere was that of a slightly rough estate pub. In short, it was all very average and uninspiring. Apart from the welcoming bar staff I can’t think of a redeeming feature that would make me want to call again.
