Al Bundy left this review about Sowerby Taps

A cellar bar that is described below. It reminded me of The Allotment in Manchester for some reason, though its smaller and has no vegetation dotted around. 4 handpumps serves Two Hoots, Darwin's Origin, a Potbelly black ale and a.n other.

Old Boots left this review about Sowerby Taps

A cellar bar located underneath the Bull on the Bridge, it's the same owners and there's a little cross over in the beers (Elland, Wishbone, Holts, Phoenix). It has a flag floor and stained glass windows with white walls to enhance the light available. It has a drinking shelf all round round and a mix of stools, tables and chairs and benches. Lighting is from gas light type fittings. As this is the lower class bit of the building it has salt of the earth customers, slightly cheaper prices and more national kegs than the pub upstairs. There are some interesting bottles in the fridge and the four pulls have some beers from smaller breweries in good nick.

ROB Camra left this review about Sowerby Taps

This is a small one roomed cellar bar under the Bull On The Bridge. There was a fire going in the grate to the left as you enter. Quite a few bits and bobs around the walls including a great sign saying "A meal without wine is called breakfast". Ms CAMRA wants me to find one of those for our dining room. About 10 people in on our visit. A group with a couple of kids and 2 couples. 4 handpumps on the bar, but only 3 on. My pint was in good nick and Ms CAMRA quite liked the red wine. We'll be calling here again to see how it settles in. A decent addition to the thriving pub scene around here.

Real Ale Ray left this review about Sowerby Taps

No rooms to let at the hotel reception at present, still the Sowerby Taps has opened its doors. This small one roomed cellar bar did have a choice of 4 ales. We went for Partners Brewery Ghost, obviously for Halloween and Elland Nettle Thrasher, which went down very well. The décor in here was shabby chic, with the original woodwork, distressed with a lime green paint. The bench seating had been upholstered in some sort of velvet material. The floor was boarded and the front of the bar was tongue and groove with a burnt effect. There was also an open lit fire, which made it welcoming and their beer was well kept.
