Old Boots left this review about The Rosse

Last visited by me nine years ago it’s not changed much, three pulls now with White Rat, Tetleys Original Cask and a clip reversed- probably something else fairly standard for the area. Pump clips from Saltaire, Ilkley, Kirkstall and even Vocation behind the counter. My White Rat while perfectly drinkable was less than perfect.

ROB Camra left this review about The Rosse

A good looking stone built fairly traditional pub on two levels. There's a pool table and a quiz machine to while away the hours. Four handpumps with three beers available, tended by a friendly barman. I'm not really a fan of Wishbone brewery, but the Wishbone Volk I had in here was the best beer I've ever had from this brewery. I liked it in here and will definitely call again.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Rosse

A decent pub this one and well worth a visit. The barman was friendly and chatty and fellow drinkers in here were all respectable. They had four ales on, so went for the Bridestones Sandstone, which was in good shape and in spite of its low ABV, the beer still had good flavour.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Rosse

The Rosse is a large stone built pub that is situated on the corner of a busy road junction.
Once inside there is a decent sized oblong shaped room with the bar facing, there is comfy bench seating facing the bar and tall tables and chairs near the bar, there is a raised area to the left which has a pool table and a few tall tables and chairs, for entertainment there was a large screen to the right showing rugby and a TV to the rear left showing football score updates.
There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Wharfdale Tether Blonde which was a very nice drink, the other beers were Wharfdale Ro Sham Bo,Taylor Boltmaker and Saltaire Rasberry Blonde.
This is a decent enough stop off for a couple of drinks.

Old Boots left this review about The Countess of Rosse

n old exterior with a modernised and refurbished interior in modern bar style although it retains traditional bench seating. Open plan with a raised area at the left end with a pool table at the front and comfy seating behind, the small stage is at the right hand side. There are a fair few big screens showing sport, sadly with the sound up. Four pumps on the counter with very local brews from Salamander, Copper Dragon, Leeds and Saltaire, all in good nick. The single toilet is multi-purpose.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Countess of Rosse

Solid-looking building with a large main bar in centre (including a corner stage), a pool room to the left as you enter and a side lounge area to right. Obviously refurbished relatively recently, but you get the impression that things have not quite taken off in the intended direction. Two of four handpumps working, offering Soltice Sun and Crazy Horse (£2.60), both from the local Salamander Brewery.

a lot has happened to this place since it was taken over. 2 x pool tables and ale lounge added, rear patio has had benches added outside
the landlord (Ron) is well known locally and has brought a load of trade in from his previous pub and built up some good return trade.
Main business is at weekends as saltaire is fairly light on bodies during the week, un less of course you are to go to fanny's ale house where all the ale heads go!!

this saturday the irish band 'scala heights' are playing, saturday just gone was the screaming aadvaarks
probably the largest interior in town, so its good when theres a big group of you or a busy nigh with bands etc
at last, an alternative to the usual suspects!
