Standard small ‘spoons one ground floor room with L shaped counter to the rear right and with a standard 5+5 pulls plus T-Bars set up. Lots of evidence of removed walls in the form of pillars and a fireplace. Usual mix of tables and seating, maybe a bit more bench type than standard. Little to distinguish it from many others but it’s a reasonable place for a pint, the quality of my Rooster’s was pretty good.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Crossed Shuttle (JD Wetherspoon)

Although in a side street, this is quite an imposing building which has survived better than several other landmark buildings in the town. Partly opened-out to leave seating / dining areas on three sides of the central bar. Dark furniture and dimly lit, with a few local history displays in the back section which benefits from some larger windows. Reasonable selection from the two banks of five handpumps, with two Goose Eye beers - Chinook (£2.15) and the seasonal Blighty's Revenge - Acorn's Drop Kick, White Wolf from Little Critters and Phoenix Wobbly Bob noted.

The Crossed Shuttle was indeed the Black Bull, a post war built pub. The current name is a reference to weaving. It's quite small for a Spoons so may not have been extended a lot. The open plan L shaped room has some exposed brickwork and dark wooden panelling. The furnishings are overall better than average. It wasn't too busy on my Wednesday early evening visit. The service here was pretty good as I found it impossible to go near the bar without someone asking if they could serve me.
The bar has ten hand pumps which had the two GK beers, two available soon, two ciders, Elland Chinook, Phoenix Wobbly Bob, Acorn Barnsley Bitter and the International Hook Norton Cathcarts Xtra Pale Ale.
I had an extended stay here so went for their Chicken Club and had the Elland Chinook, Wobbly Bob and the Hook Norton international one (all £2.15). West Yorkshire seems to have a number of pretty good Spoons and this is definitely one of them.

The Crossed Shuttle is a Wetherspoons pub that is situated in the middle of Pudsey.
It looks like an original pub from the outside and is probably the Black Bull that has been converted into a Spoons.
Once inside there is an L shaped room with the bar on the left side, there are seating bays opposite the bar and bench seating to the front.
There was a decent choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Lymestone Stone Cutter which went down very well, the other beers i noted were Leeds best,Banks & Taylor Dragon Slayer,Ridgeside Porter plus one from Ilkley brewery and the usuall Spoons regulars.
I thought this was quite a nice Wetherspoons pub.

this pub has been a god send for us of the disabled community. it is cozy, it has wheelchair access, a ramp and hand rail into the place and a disabled toilet on the ground floor. it ticks all the boxes for me and has now become my local. thankyou whitherspoons for actually taking the not so abled body into mind when designing this place.

Not the largest Wetherspoons by a long chalk but nevertheless a fine job has been undertaken on the pub's interior.I found ths pub smart, clean, the barstaff efficient and seemed to have a more cosy atmosphere than a lot of the JDW pubs, which i think was helped by the open fire and the low ceiling. On a slightly less positive note i think there could be quite a bit of congestion around the bar area at busy times.Quite liked it in here, and comparing the pub to a football team it would probably be a mid table premier league team.

This new Wetherspoons opened on Sunday 23rd January 2011.
In another life it was previously called the Black Bull.
Wetherspoons have started from scratch and you are impressed as soon as you enter the place, clean, new and fresh.
Its the usual winning formula of a good range of well kept ales at reasonable prices, what more can an old ale cart wish for.
