Will Larter left this review about The Turkey Inn

A stone-built village pub, possibly 19th century, once a Tetleys house but now the home of Goose Eye Brewery. The internal walls have been removed, leaving a large space into which a bar has been fitted, unusually on the back of the front wall. There are several distinct cosy areas which have their own individual character, and each with a fireplace, breaking up what in other circumstances would be too large a room.

The walls are adorned with, among others, some photos and paintings by what I assume are local artists, and there's a suit of armour next to one of the fireplaces. More conventionally, there's also a pool table and there was some (to me unidentifiable) music playing, perhaps a tad too loud for background but not quite loud enough to be a feature.

The bar seems to have been made of barrel staves, and there are eight hand pumps scattered randomly along its length. On my visit these had three of the house beers plus two from Timothy Taylor and two guests (from Naylors and Sarah Hughes). I was just setting out on a walk and so only called in for a quick half as the pub opened. The Goose Eye Bitter was spot on and I would certainly want to come back another time to sample some more of the beers and enjoy being here.
