Quinno _ left this review about Percy Vear's Real Ale House

Given the ‘real ale house’ moniker I was expecting good things here. It’s a bijou local’s place that’s carpeted with light wood trim. So much for the ‘real ale house’, there was just the one on, an aged Saltaire Blonde (NBSS 2). Ordering a half via Paul O’ Grady’s ghost (Percy Vear’s grandson, I wonder?) caused a stir with conversation about said half happening as if I wasn't there with at least one snide comment which they thought was out of earshot. Once that died down the locals got back to doing what they do best, in this case coughing. Got iffy vibes off this one - enter a stranger leave a stranger. Used to be called the Friendly Inn which is sadly ironic.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Percy Vear's

Basic corner alehouse, located just south of the town centre, with a single small bar featuring traditional furniture but relatively light decoration. Only two of the three handpumps were in use when I visited, dispensing a pair of Saltaire real ales: Titus and Blonde (£2.90).

Single room corner pub, a couple of Saltaire beers plus John Smiths cask (the locals like it), a bit odd for a former Taylors pub. Very small and reasonably friendly, its previous name was the Friendly, the beer is usually in good nick, old bloke clientele in the main. Couple of screens showing sport. Vaguely boxing decor as it’s named after a local boxer not a bad pun. So no change really since 2014.

A longish, thin, single room corner pub, it used to be a Taylors tied house called the Friendly and it's still very welcoming. The counter is along the back wall at one end with the rest of the area taken up with bench seating and rectangular tables. Two big screens for entertainment and boxing cuttings making up the decor. Decently kept ale, this time from Saltaire and Wentworth alongside what I take to be the regular beer John Smiths Cask.
