Bucking Fastard left this review about The Tunnel End Inn

Set in a wonderful location at the edge of Marsden and close to the Standedge Tunnel visitor centre with views over the Pennines. This is a family run pub with a friendly landlord, his wife and daughter all helping behind the bar. There are benches outside and through the front door there is a seperate lounge with its own door to the left and the main drinking area to the right with a small bar.Four handpumps with Black Sheep and TT Landlord as regulars and two rotating guests with Bass and excellent Cascade IPA from Wem on my visit. The interior is very traditional with beaten copper table tops ,some Lowry prints on the walls and carpeted throughout.During the week the pub opens at 5pm although with advanced notice the landlord will open midday for reasonable sized groups ,and if you want food a call ahead will normally result in the family putting something on.Home cooked meals available all day on Fridays to Sundays without booking. There is a TV in the bar which is switched on if requested.A wonderful friendly place, worth seeking out and thoroughly deserves its GBG entry.
