Thuck Phat left this review about The Railway

An unexceptional Marston's boozer which seems to be catering for everyone.
Inside is standard - carpets, wood furniture, wood burner. There isn't anything really of note here.
Beers on were Brakspear Shires and Oxford Gold, Thwaites Wainwright, Jennings Hop Commotion, Hobgoblin and Marston's Old Empire IPA. The Hop Commotion, like the boozer, was fine but unexceptional.
It's alright for a quick one if you're waiting for a train.

Bucking Fastard left this review about The Railway

A Marston's tied house with a strange open plan layout, with a small front section ,then a large bar room with old and shabby furniture and loud hip hop muzak. The childrens sweet dispenser and soft toy grab machine were at odds with a darts board. It's very close to the station and firmly on the Pennine Rail Ale map,so watch out at weekends, although on our Tuesday visit it was calm.At a much lower level there is an extensive beer garden, while to food menu was ultra value pub grub.
The 5 handpumps were drawing Old Empire,Wainwright,Brakspears Shires and Oxford Gold along with Jennings Hopcommotion, not their greatest brew.Functional if unexciting,I got the impression that not much love and attention has been lavished on this pub.

Old Boots left this review about The Railway

A Marstons pub across the road from the railway station. The single, odd shaped large room is divided up into three blandly decorated drinking areas with comfortable seating in various styles. Five handpumps serving beers from the Marston's stable plus the normal keg selection. There is also a beer garden at the back down the slope from the pub. A range of screens and machines but little of much note in an average sort of pub.
