Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Fieldhead

This one was quite a grand looking pub, situated in a residential area of Huddersfield to the west of the town centre.

There is quite a large car park at the front. As you enter, the horseshoe-shaped bar is in front of you, with drinking areas either side. Quite a few of the midweek afternoon customers were congregated around the bar. Seating areas were cosy and comfortable and offer good views of the surrounding areas, given the pub is quite high up. A garden at the rear offers similar vistas.

Two real ales were on - Ossett Eagle & Rudgate Jorvik. My Eagle was not in the best condition, but still just about drinkable.

This appears to be a real community local that was better than I had expected.

Three changing real ales. Lovely imposing building and with a good atmosphere. One slight quibble was that it was a little too smokey.

I will return though. Nice pub.
