Will Larter left this review about The Crown

We called in here as part of a Denby Dale area pub crawl and it was easily the busiest of the six pubs we visited. The room to the right has all the real ales on six pumps, with a dining area further round which has a tremendous view of the car park. To the left is more of a sports bar feel, with a wide screen TV and a pool table.

Real ales on offer at the time of our visit were Tetleys Bitter, Salopian Shropshire Gold, Jennings Cumberland Ale, Sharps Doom Bar and Two Crowns Ten Bob. We had the Salopian and the Two Crowns, both in excellent condition. The range of beers (the missing hand pump had a Shepherd Neame clip turned around) from different parts of the country suggests that someone is not content to just serve up the usual suspects, and the quality confirms that they know how to keep and serve it. Easily reachable on the 82 bus from Huddersfield or the 435/436 from Wakefield.
