Old Boots left this review about The Crown

Lively, old fashioned, city centre boozer although fairly modernised inside. Six pulls with four Yorkshire beers on, middling condition. Lots of screens, machines, darts and a pool table, very busy on a Saturday mostly with an older demographic. The pensioner’s special might bring in a more elderly group mid week.

A decent enough pub with a bizarre pricing structure. As I was only staying for a short of time I only wanted a half, however the bloke behind the bar started to rattle off some nonsense about how it was this much for that and that much for the other. Mr Winfield tells it correctly and I too thought it stunk. Therefore it loses points.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Crown

The Crown is situated quite close to to a busy road junction.
Once inside there is a decent sided L shaped room that looks quite smart, there is a raised area to the front right, the bar in the main area is on the left side, the floor is part carpeted and bare boarded, there is bench seating to the front and a mix of normal and tall tables and chairs elsewhere.
There is a pool table to the rear left, there were TVs all showing sky sports.
There was a decent choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Elgoods Straw Beer which went down well, but the pubs pricing policy for real ales stink in my opinion, the barman said all beers are on special offer at £2.60 a pint, but halfs are not so i had to pay £1.70 for a half,if this is the proper price then £3.40 for a pint is far too expensive for Huddersfield, moan over, the other beers noted were Slaters Rye IPA,Cottage Pacific,O Hanlons Yellow Hammer, plus one more.
The pub was very busy on my Saturday dinner visit with a good mix of drinkers.
