The Junction pub has won pub of the season. The nights are drawing in so the fires will be lit. Don't forget the this is a dog friendly pub so you will be able to dry your pooch off in front of the fire. Six real ales always available at the weekends.

Wednesday nights are quiz nights followed by open the envelope, you dont have to win quiz to enter. Dog friendly. July 9th is birthday night with charity events for the Ghurkas plus 9 real ales will be on from Ridgeside Brewery as Simon the brewer will be on site to answer any questions.

A work in progress as parts of the pub still to be finished. 2 beers available on a mid week visit Moorland OSH and Green King Mild both on hand pull. More beers available at weekends with brews from Bobs and Ridgeside due on. Well on the way to being a top pub for beer lovers. (will review rating once all refurbishment is finished)

Chris Heath left this review about The New Junction

Another pub to have suffered badly after the opening of the Xscape complex. The major nail in the coffin of The Junction however, has been the introduction of the smoking ban. the pub opens onto a main junction in Castleford town centre, and there simply is no room at the rear of the pub to accomodate smokers. This pub has closed a couple of times over the last 2 years, opening up periodically with agency landlords if and when the pub chain feels fit (Enterprise Inns). At the time of writing (Jan.08), it appears the pub is open again, but the For Sale sign above the door does not look good for it's long term future as a pub.
The pub has now changed it's name back from "The New Junction" to it's original name of "The Junction".
