The Lamplighters is a corner pub that is situated on Castlefords main shopping street.
Once inside there is a single oblong shaped room which runs to the rear,the room is carpeted and has comfy bench seating and small stool to the front and down the right side,there were a couple of TVs on,one showing cricket the other horse racing.
No real ales on the bar,so it was a drink of John Smiths Smooth crap which lived up to its name.
A bog standard pub in what looks like a pretty run down town.

Further to Chris's comments Enterprise list this pub as Lamplighters. They might even refurbish it when a new tennent is found.

Up until 1982 this Castleford town centre pub was called "The White Hart". It has since changed it's name slightly, ranging from The Lamplighter, Lamplighter Bar, and then to Lamplighters. In 2007 new signs were put up proclaiming the pub as "Charlie's Bar" but the old signs also still remain up, so it is now confusing as to what it is actually called! - until further notice we will keep it as The Lamplighter!
