Enjoyed our visit last month to this pub with a good choie of beer available. There were a lot of empty handpulls, and I was told these come in use when there are beer festivals. We selected and enjoyed Yard of Ale Tardbird, Roundhill Billas Bitter and Roundhill Sorachi and Coe.

This pub is in the 2014 Good Beer Guide and that was why I was calling there today. The guide shows open Friday and Saturday from 3pm, but not we called there 3 times up to 4.30pm but the door was locked and we saw no sign of activity. Shame as we only had today there.

They say it's what's on the inside that counts, that's certainly true in this case, from the outside a plain old pub, but once across the threshold you'll soon warm to it's charms. It has a good range of drink on offer and three guest hand-pulled ales, I'm assured the host as sample each cask so you only get the best. It holds many events visit their page to find out what's happening etc, and if you are looking for a club venue they are pleased to help, if they can't help I'm sure they will be able to recommend somewhere close by. It's also dog friendly so if your dog is as friendly as the staff and just as well behaved, it will be welcome they may even get it a drink of water on the house.

So if you plan a walk around the Headland to take in the many interesting sights or just a place to walk your dog, make sure you pop in. You won't regret it. Unless you go the same time as our club in which case you may see a load of flashers.
