Recently I walked past the building and they now have a large sign up to the effect that the building will be reopening as a furniture and carpet store - so that's the end of the Hare and Hounds.

This pub is still closed and has closed twice in the last couple of years, however a large extension has been added to the front of the building jutting into the car park. This suggests to me that it is taking the gastro-pub route more seriously and will be opening again in the not too distant future.
