Old Boots left this review about Brewery Tap
Much in the “alehouse” style betraying its roots, it’s now owned by one of the larger PubCos. Lots of brown tongue and groove on the walls and the two faced counter, where the walls aren’t exposed stone, nice stone fireplace let down by a laminate floor on one side, nice flags on the other. Traditional furnishings including Britannia tables and a genuine Gaskell & Chambers pub bench, lots of old ads and blackboards as decor and information. Five pulls with three in use on one counter face, two unused on the other, average Landlord plus Black Sheep Bitter and Bradfield Farmers Blonde, otherwise standard keg offerings. It’s got a Jägerbomb machine as well. There’s a few screens, a pool table and some big speakers in a corner hinting at live or DJ “curated” music.

This pub does look very inviting from the outside and especially with the name Brewery Tap, also sounded promising. Once through the doors, it was like walking in to a typical American bar from the mid west, the film Fargo immediately came to mind. There was a handful of drinkers at the bar, when we walked in on a Friday lunchtime and you just got the vibe that strangers have just entered our pub. Besides that, the manageress was very upbeat and welcoming. The beer choice was one cask on the bar, TT Landlord, which was ok, but didn't warrant another.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Brewery Tap
The Brewery Tap is a stone built pub that is joined onto the The Alexandra.
Once inside there is a single square shaped room which has an island bar, there are pew seats to the right and small stools, there is a pool table to the rear, the room is bare boarded, the left side is slightly raised, this area has a stone floor, there is bench seating running down the left side.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Ossett Yorkshire Blonde, which went down well, the other beer was Shepherd Neame Spitfire.
The TV was showing a music channel, background music was playing, live groups play here.
I quite like pubs like this.
