The Regis is a large sprawling food led Brewers Fayre pub that I visited just after 11am on Saturday morning. A standard keg range alongside San Miguel is available from the bar that was ignored by other customers in favour of a self-service coffee machine. To be fair these people were probably off to eat breakfast in the dining area that is vastly bigger than the bar area. This bar area houses a pool tables and a toy grab machine that is full of sweets. Out the front are picnics tables a stone’s throw from the beach. This family friendly pub is not the sort of place most would venture into just for a beer.

Over a year on from my previous review and, sad to say, still appears grubby around the edges. Almost empty of customers this visit but most of those that were here let their kids run around unchecked - shame as it's more like a creche than a pub.

Typical Brewers Fayre and could do with a heavy injection of cash to bring it up to scratch as the decoration looks excessively tired and is rather off-putting. Having said that, the staff were welcoming and efficient and the beers (of limited range) were well kept. Didn't try the food but it is the typical grub of the chain. Big drawback for me was the screaming kids allowed to run around at will - but then, you seem to get ignorant parents everywhere these days. Certainly not the ridiculous 10/10 of the previous reviewer - the perfect pub just doesn't exist! - but a sensible average.
