Decent pub which is the first pub you a pass walking into Arundel from the train station. Seems to have a good local crowd, on my recent visit football was being shown on the TV to the left of the main entrance.
The beer was Harvey's which I'm not keen on so I went for Thatchers Gold which was nicely priced at £3.50 a pint. I believe they also serve food and there's also some outside seating to the side of the pub. Ideal pub to start of a pub crawl of Arundel.

This is the first proper pub you encounter if walking into town from the station, inside you find a light and airy main room with the bar at the front, boarded floor, central see-through fireplace and chimney with stone jugs on the hearth and a mirror on the breast. Green painted brick fronted bar counter to the side, black and white beamed ceiling, seating generally at smaller tables plus bar stools with a couple of pew benches towards the rear. Décor includes framed drawings of game birds and also caricatures of jockeys, a large wall mounted sign states "G. Curtis Ltd", provenance unknown.
Another room to the rear was in darkness with upended chairs on the tables, this was signed "Mama Al's Smokehouse and Grill" and had a separate island till so I assume operates perhaps in the evenings as a restaurant, who knows?
A shelf contained dictionaries, encyclopaedia and other such reference material and Yuccas and succulents were thriving on the sunny window cills. Outdoor seating to the side.
Harvey's beers in here, Sussex Best on two pumps with Old Ale on another, one unclipped.
Not a bad start to my afternoon stroll around Arundel, a decent drop of Best and smiley service, worth it for a first or last one around town.
