Soup Dragon left this review about Rose & Crown

This is a detached 70s style estate pub. It is in that generic style of a big house, srrounded by a low-level extension and is predominantly in brick, with some white render. It is bland from the outside - the drainpipe being the most exciting feature. The interior has a couple of rooms; with a bar room to the left, which i did not see. The lounge is to the right and is far more playful in aesthetic quality than the exterior. It is in white, with some fake stone and some scoring to create a 'stone block' look. Add to this, massive 80s style fake beams and friezes on the wall of medieval activites (hog roasting for example) and you have a fun theme. There is blue seating and a red carpet. There is a pool table and a TV (showing sport). There was no music. The service was friendly, as was the banter between the few locals at the bar. Beer; usual tap stuff really, i had a shandy as the M&B MILD was off. No real ale. While there was no beer to my taste, i found this a nice enough community pub.
