Christmas Meal - 08/12/12 - Party of 19. They cordoned off a whole section of the pub for our party and the tables were made up with festivities in mind and looked very nice. The fire was roaring and after an afternoon stroll in the freezing cold was very welcoming. Some of the party ordered from the normal menu but the majority selected from the Xmas menu. We had all pre-ordered and the starters were delivered quite quickly. A short rest to the main meal and then those of us who were being piggish had the deserts. Nobody complained about their meal and some were very complimentary, particularly concerning the meats involved. I was very impressed with the way we had been treated, the service was good (especially for Christmas, where some places can go off the boil) and the meals were very good.
As a group we have eaten here before during the year and the meals have always been very well presented. The normal menu was a couple of pounds cheaper then the Christmas Fayre but I guess to be expected. Drinks were very reasonably priced and they did not go overboard on the price of soft drinks they way some places do.
Overall a very commendable 8 out of 10.
