Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Old Bush
Very much a local, compared with The Vine next door, albeit one with a slightly confusing layout. The open door when I visited was at the right-hand end and led into the simple bar area with a dartboard. This in turn leads to the snug which also has its own doorway (although this may not be in regular use). The lounge is accessed via a third door at the other end of the building, and this part also has a small patio terrace at the front. Disappointingly, no real ale available from any of the various handpumps, so made do with a keg Banks's Original mild (£3.10).

Right next door to The Vine. A bit rough around the edges and no ale on offer. It was a toss up between Banks's Mild and Guinness. The black stuff won so I had a quick one and moved on.

Nice friendly atmosphere beer good a shame more people don't try it the entertainment is good managers are very pleasant and welcoming. Does seem to have a quick staff turn around

This is a decent traditional Banks’s (Marston’s) pub which has three rooms, a public bar, snug and lounge. Each room has its own entrance at the front of the building and there is a door between the central snug and the public bar on the right of the building. The traditional public bar has a counter almost all the way across the back wall with a small break in the back right corner where there is a dart board on the back wall, in the left hand wall there is a brick fire place with a cast grate and log fire, above the entrance is a large flat screen TV which was showing horse racing, red fabric bench seating opposite the bar and some large potted plants in the front window. There is a door to the snug in the left hand wall between the fire place and the counter. The tiny snug next door is lovely, it has a small counter across the back wall, a cast iron fire place in the left hand wall with a tiled surround and a small flat screen TV above, red bench seats and an interesting clock on the wall by the front door which has the portrait of what looks like a Victorian Indian army officer built into it. The lounge is on the left of the building and can only be entered by its front door, this room is more olde worlde with timber beams and half timber walls with rough plaster work. There is a nice large fire place in the right hand wall which probably shares a chimney with the fire in the snug, the small counter is in the back right corner and there is a pool table in the back left area of the room. The half dozen tables are well suited for dining. There is a raised paved patio in an L shape around the front left hand side of the building with several picnic tables.
Regular ales are Banks’s Bitter and Mild with a single changing guest beer from the Marston’s portfolio which includes Brakspear, Jennings, Ringwood or Wychwood beers. On this occasion it was Jennings Cocker Hoop which was in good condition as was the Mild.
This pub was a pleasant surprise as from the exterior I wasn’t expecting much but I really liked the traditional décor and furnishings, it felt like a proper community locals pub with a comfy lived in character. There were only about half a dozen people in the public bar who were very friendly but the other two rooms were deserted. If they removed the small TV from the snug it would be like an Edwardian museum display! I would definitely pop in for a drink again if in the area.

A detached Banks's pub and eatery with patio area. It is in white painted brick with a steep alpine styled roof and dormer windows.
The interior has three rooms; a bar lounge and snug room. The lounge is accessed by the door on the right if standing facing the pub. It is L-shaped and has white artex walls, with white and beam ceiling and fireplace. There wasn't much in the way of pictures or ephemera. There is a pool table and i didn't see a TV. The small snug has its own entrance and is in white, with a small tiled fireplace. The bar room is also in white, with a pink chimney breast that has a fireplace. There is a TV here, but it wasn't on at my visit. The music was general and at a decent level. The service was fine and there were just a few people in. They do an inexpensive food menu, but i didn't eat here, so i can't comment on that.
Beer; the usual tap stuff with Banks's Bitter, MILD and a decent enough Jennings Cumberland Ale on handpull
Happy enough to pop into here for one, especially with two other pubs serving real ale nearby. The beer is fine here and it has more character than a lot of foody places.
