Soup Dragon left this review about The Old Ash Tree

A detached Banks's pub with beer garden area. The pub looks like it was a couple of cottages that have been knocked together and later extended on the sides. It is in cream, with a peach colour around the windows, now looking a little tired. The interior has three areas. The back room was deserted and had a dart board, although table and chairs blocked it - and is in cream and beige wood panel. The front room is irregular in shape and in white, red and brick - the outstanding feature being a Banks's sign painted on the wall - but we made our way to the smaller dining room to the side. This is in cream, white and pink wood panel, with an old Banks's fireplace. The TV wasn't on and a small hatch is where you order the food - and it has red velour perimeter seating. The food was ok. There are several other TVs, the main one with a charty music channel on. The service was functional for the drinks and better for the food. The clientele was local, and comprised mainly of moms and their kids - indeed, I believe one sported the names of her children on the back of her neck. Beer; usual tap stuff with Banks's Sunbeam (decent) and Marston's Old Empire on handpull. Happy enough to pop in for one, but for the real ale fan, one for the locals, i think.
