Delboy 20 left this review about Tap & Ale

The Tap & Ale is now the Street Food Smokehouse. As the name suggests it is geared more towards food but you can still have a beer without eating. The usual array of higher end fizzy stuff but there is Shipyard Pale and Rye on draught. The menu looked good but I can't comment as I didn't eat.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Globe

UPDATE: A Victorian corner pub, with small patio at the back. Formerly known as the Alexandra Inn, and the Alexandra Hotel back in the 1880s, this pub is in cream and black, with a globe painted on the frontage. There is a central entrance flanked by bay windows and a low extension with the main entrance to the side. The interior is an L-shaped room in coffee and brown, with a pool table at one end. There are tasteful sporting pictures on the walls, as well as several TVs for sport. Some Irish footy tops are on the ceiling. There is a lot of old perimeter seating, newly covered and a side area with some booths, as well as a few high stools/chairs. The service was fine and there were no others in at our visit. The bogs are in Wolves coloured tiles. Beer; all tap stuff, no real ale, with a reasonable M&B MILD. Happy to have popped in for a swifty and a game of pool, but nothing for the real ale drinker.

(2009 - Alexandra Inn) Nice black and white corner pub, recently refurbished, with beer patio at the back. The interior is open plan around the bar, leading into a pool area (£1 a game, a lot for Wolvo folk!). Décor is reddish and white plain walls. Service was fine and the clientele mature, small (it was Monday night) and some very drunk. Beer – tap tosh with no real ale, but they go a reasonable Ansell’s MILD on keg.Non entity of a place really, saved for me by the fact it does Ansells MILD, so we always pop in for a swifty
