Soup Dragon left this review about The Old Oak

A narrow detached white rendered corner pub, which looks a bit like a standard semi with an extension.

The interior is a single open plan room, it seemed, which is in white and a chocale sort of colour. There wasn't much in the way of pictures and ephemera, so it looked a bit bare. There are a few TV's including a large screen, with was shown Sky Sports (the dart final) and the far end had a pool table. The serving bar was wood panelled and on the right part way up. The service was functional, the music mixed and at an ok level.

Beer; no real ale, all keg stuff. Had half of Banks's MILD which was OK.

This pub is tough to review, not because it is bad, but because it is the epitome of a basic pub. There is nothing wrong with it, other than it lacks real ale for me, but with the Acorn over the road, unless you are a local, i can't see why you would bother.
