Real Ale Ray left this review about The Duke of Cambridge

A good destination pub this one and with a short bus ride and a short walk, it was definitely worth the effort. A glowing fire greeted us in the bar area. The landlord and locals were all friendly and welcoming, and were honoured to show us around the bar area and detailed some history of the pub.
As this is a Black Country Ales pub, the interior was very inviting and comfortable. Thirteen ales and three ciders on our visit. We took our beers and sat in the front lounge area admiring the decor, along with the building's original exposed beams.

Black country ales pub - doing more or less what they all do - usual BFG, Pig on the Wall and Fireside and then a few random ales from breweries from around the UK.

Nice building, converted from C17th cottages - bar to left, snug to right and a pool room on the back.

Good Beer Guide 2019.

My Fixed Wheel Shell Corner looked dreadful, completely hazy. Maybe a one off.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Duke of Cambridge

Excellent Black Country Ales pub, retaining a multi-room layout with very traditional serveries in the bar and snug on either side of the entrance corridor and two other rooms served by hatches further back. There is also a partly covered side patio and a rear beer garden. I found seven real ales - including three of their own beers and guests such as the Stratford Malty Pig Bitter (£3.20) - and a cider divided between the various handpumps on the two counters. Well worth seeking out.

Fantastic local, part of the Black Country Ales chain and a fine advert for them. Various seating areas around the bar, split into individual areas. A really cosy little place with bags of atmosphere. Its a shame the fire isn't real.

The beer quality of the 6 real ales is top notch.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Duke Of Cambridge

A Black Country Ales chain cottage style pub, with central corridor entrance, in white and toffee colours. In the GBG 2011.

The interior has three rooms. The entrance leads to a snug on the right and a bar on the left. The bar is in white and wood panel with white and beam ceiling and a brick fireplace with a burning stove warming the place up. There were bottles, brasses and beer mats to give a more traditional feel. The Snug is also in white and wood panel and is nearly bisected by a central wall. There is a gas fire, more beer mats and some ceramic tea-pots along with some prints on the walls. There is also a games room at the back. In undressed brick it has pool, darts and a larger screen TV, which had the footy on. The service was friendly, the clientele seemed mainly confined to the games room, where a dart's match was taking place. There was no music.

Beer; tap stuff, with the three BC ales; BFG, Fireside and Pig on the Wall MILD, the last two being decent, as well as three guest ales; Everard's Tiger, Slater's Arctic and a reasonable Falstaff's Wyvern.

A really nice pub, friendly with good beer. I look forward to returning.

Recently taken over by Black Country Ales Ltd after the death of the previous owner, this pub has not been changed at all. Now offering Pig on the Wall, BFG and Fireside plus a couple of guests. Certainly worth a visit.

The barstaff have the conversational abilities of a gnat.
