Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Gough Arms

Quite a substantial Art Deco pub of the sort you would expect to find beside a main road rather than deep in Black Country suburbia. Anyway, it is now run by Marston's and has various food offers throughout the week. The multi-part interior has unfortunately been given an anonymous, semi-modern refurbishment at some stage, and food is served in whichever of the main seating areas you like (with the separate dining area closed off when I stopped by). Also has a rear beer garden plus a few patio tables at the front. Just Banks's Amber (£3.25) available from the two banks of four handpumps, but at least a real ale is still available.

Soup Dragon left this review about Gough Arms

The Gough Arms is a detached Marston's pub and eatery. It replaced an earlier pub on the site, of the same name, when a new estate was laid out in the 1930's. Symmetrical, slightly art deco, it is in cream render with a coffee central entrance - the outstanding feature being the rounded towers. The interior (of what i saw) is simply one large room that curves U-shaped around the bar. It is all foody. It is in green, cream, patterned wallpaper and wood panelling - so the usual set-up for this kind of place - only it has a moulded cornice and the lights are tasteful. There are a couple of brick and tile fireplaces and some prints on the walls. The TV wasn't on and the music general and at a soft level. The service was friendly and a mixed clientele were in, all dining. I ddn't eat so can't comment on that. Beer; usual tap stuff with Banks's Bitter, MILD (decent) and Hobgoblin on handpull. I found this place tidy and decent for a foody one - happy enough to pop back.
