The Culcheth Arms seems to have changed in layout a bit since my previous visit and as a result it had more of a restaurant vibe than a pub with a greeter's station by the entrance door. However there are no issues in bypassing this and ordering a drink at the bar. Once inside all tables are laid out with condiments and comfortable seating seemed to be lacking in favour of hard wooden chairs. At the bar were five hand pulls of which three were on - offering Theakston Old Peculiar, Wainwright Gold and Ossett Silver King. The Silver King was a decent drink in good condition, though I should expect nothing less for the somewhat eye watering £2.50 that it set me back for half a pint.

There is a wood burner in one section but the rest of the pub felt a bit chilly. The gents were OK but not as high end as you may reasonably expect when premium prices are being charged.

Can't see me rushing back anytime soon but good to re-visit and the ale quality here was better than at the nearby Cherry Tree and Liberty's on the day.

A large modern pub. There are a few areas to sit with a function room available. Its a pleasant enough place but doesn't really have any character to it. There is a pool table to the right rear. 5 handpumps on the bar but sadly they are a fairly unadventurous set of ales with Dizzy Blonde, Theakstons Old Peculiar, Bombardier and an end of barrel Xmas beer by Hardy Hanson.

Have been to the Culcheth Arms a couple of times and on both occasions the real offering was fairly safe with only one standing out. Last time this was 3 Kings by Camerons, which was perfectly OK. Decent size pub with plenty of seating.
