Soup Dragon left this review about Gabba's Bar

A detached 1920s undressed brick pub. Formerly called the Herbert's Park Tavern (a name still on the outside) the place stood empty, or was used as private accommodation for many years until becoming a bar/Indian restaurant at the tail end of last year, though it only just seems to have opened. Typical of the period, it is symmetrical in design, with a Georgian feel, with its square look, sash windows and rounded door arches. There is a rear area.

The interior has a front bar area and a rear dining area served by a central island bar. I mainly saw the bar, which was in a heavy cream artex wall, with some red panel and white ceiling. The back rooms seemed to be the same only the bar had a mix of patterned tile and brown striped carpet, where the dining area seemed to have some wood panel and the carpet, as well as a few bistro pictures on the walls. There seemed to be a pool table in the back as i saw the cues. The bar has a small games are to the right on entry, where there is a dart board, bar footy games and a TV (with the footy on). The rest of the bar is to the left and has a nice brick fireplace and new looking red and cream seating, along with beer mirrors on the wall for a bit of interest. There was no music. The service was OK and there were a few locals in. I didn't eat, but the prices seemed decent, as did the menu.

Beer; no real ale, all the usual tap stuff including Banks's MILD and M&B MILD. The prices were very cheap and i had the M&B, which i expected to be poor at £1.50 per pint, but i am pleased to say, it wasn't.

I didn't expect much prior to going in, but found my experience perfectly fine, having a cheap MILD after footy whilst watching the match. With the pub games, i could see myself dropping by again, perhaps eat too.
