I can't be 100% sure, but it seems that this place has closed. The blackboard to the side of the entrance still advertises live entertainment every Saturday, but the entrance door has now been divided into two separate entrances, which presumably means it has been divided into two sub-divided properties.

Good Beer Guide stickers remain in the windows, but net curtains have been replaced by blinds. There is no apparent telephone number and no up-to-date social media presence. Furthermore, there was no sign of life at 1pm on a Saturday lunchtime this past weekend.

I won't register the pub as closed, just in case it is somehow still open. However, I'm fairly sure that it is no more.

Real ale is now back on at the Dragon after a gap of many years. Highgate Mild and two Davenports beers are normally available

A nice half brick and half white rendered terrace pub, where the old central entrance has been bricked up in favour of a side one.

The interior has two rooms served by a central serving bar. At the front, there is the bar room, which looked like it had been tidied-up since my last visit. It is in white and wood panel with a green carpet and has a dart board and TV. The lounge is at the back and is an L-shaped room culminating in a dart area. The decor here is patterned wallpaper, with some wood panel, a cream and white ceiling, carpet and an brick chimney breast with a stove fire. The dart area has carpet tiles and is in a coffee colour. There are a few photos on the walls, along with bottles and mirrors for decoration. The TVs were not on in this room and there was soft Xmas music in the background. The service was fine and there was a small, but mixed clientele.

Beer; No real ale sadly, it has the usual tap drinks with Banks’s MILD, which was fine to be honest.

A nice enough place , it just sadly lacks real ale for my taste. Happy to stop for a swifty and a game of darts.
