Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about White Horse

Housing estate pub, with the lounge bar featuring an unusual, almost circular, layout with an expansive bow-windowed frontage. The busier rectangular side bar houses the pool table, dartboard, table football, etc. Despite some external Marston's signage, the real ales from two of four handpumps were Landlord and a decent Wye Valley Bitter (£2.90).

Repainted in Marston's dull way, but then sold to a another Pubco. The layout is the same, although now redecorated. It seems more stable after suffering under a succession of publicans, it now seems to have an interested and friendly couple looking to take it on. They do a small but home-cooked menu. The bar has pool, darts, bar footy and a TV for sport. It now has 5 real ales: Banks's MILD (nice), bitter, Hobgoblin Gold, and, as it is no longer tied to Marston's, Tim Taylor Landlord and Doombar. I will keep and eye on this one again.

June 2011: This is a detached Marstons 60s looking pub and eatery in undressed brick, so it tends to look bland from the outside. It does have a beer garden and kid's play area.

The interior has a couple of rooms, a bar and a lounge/dining area. The bar is in green and cream walls, with white ceiling and a brown and cream chessboard style flooring. There are a few TVs showing Sky Sports usually and a few signed footy shirts on the walls for interest. It has high stools and brown perimeter seats. This room seems to be for the younger crowd and the sport watchers. The lounge/dining room has a round room with a conservatory extension. It is in the same decor, with carpeting. I have eaten here and the food is generally good. There is a TV here as well, often not on. This room attractes the maturer visitor. The bar staff have always been friendly and the music varies, but is never too loud.

There are the usual taps, including Peroni lager. Handpulls included Banks's MILD and bitter, Brakspear Buzz, Hobgoblin and Cocker-Hoop. The beer tends to be consistently good.

I pop in here on a semi-regular basis, but tend to go in the lounge. Good for families in the nice weather with the garden and play area.

Just wondered if any of the gentlemen that attend this public house by any chance found themselves on a barge for New Year and ended up in Kinver?

I moved round the corner recently so this is my local now. I have been aware of this pub for many years and it has always had the reputaion of being full of kids! Recently they seem to have made a big effort to smarten the place up! They offer fairly priced pub food and do special evenings most nights. The public bar is however very noisy and un-inviting and full of "sports fans". But the lounge is usually very quiet and better for a quiet pint. It's ok for a local!

Having recently moved too the area I thought I would try this pub I visited on Sunday 16th May and at first the external looked a little uninviting however inside the bar what a transformation! Sky multi sports I was able to watch the rugby and the cricket some cool sporting memrobilia and it was full! A good mix of us oldens and some youngsters I ended up staying too watch the cricket final and the atmosphere was carnival like... nothing like beating the aussies! I was in the middle of cheslyn hay and got a pint of Peroni and fresh musseslls and my driving mate got a proper coffee, we ate in the lounge comfortable great attentive service it was refreshing too see a local pub ctering to everyone a huge beer garden full of kids, great choice of beerand great food and sport. I will find myself becoming a regular keep it up!

over the many years of drinking around the area i have been disappointed over the many years. over the last several years the clientele has changed from middle age single alcoholics to a in-adolescence 15-30 drop in center with much resemblance of a asbo/chav babysitting rehab clinic.

on a plus side the pub has tried to tidy itself up over the years by laying new carpet, by doing food and by even re-foaming and clothing the stools and chairs.

the beer is average for any off the beat track pub and food adequate for anyone who will have there fill from a pack of pork crunch.

even with all the improvements, and the lick of paint that has happened over the years, i can safely say it is not a pub i can openly walk in and ask for a nice cold beer but if you are still in nappies, your type of entertainment is listening to pin drops and like wearing hoodies, bassball caps nodding like a churchill dog its the place for you

The White horse is a pub very local to me. I find the pub very overpriced for its estate location. The bar area is always overcrowded with teenage and twenty something sorts. The smoking area is right outside the front entrance which is very intimidating for elderly guests! The television is always on sky sports and very loud. There is always a crowd of boy racer types on the car parking area which is not good for the family sort with young children in summertime. Not a pub i enjoy to frequent unfortunately.
