Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Met

The former Bar 10 beside the town's canal basin has now been taken on by Davenport's, which sounded like an improvement even before I visited (although it's still very much a sports bar). Quite an expansive single-storey building with more seating outside nearer the water. Pub-grub menu. Although not expecting too much, I was very pleased to find the C.B. / Original (£3.50) and Gold Ale being served from the pair of handpumps.

Bar 10 has been taken over by Davenports. It will reopen soon as The Met - a sports bar.

If you can avoid. A shack like place that seems to be aimed at the local youth, desperate or insane. Situated on a canal wharf its a basic noise bar. No real ale and usual fizzpop crap. The actual wharf has a lovely collection of floating bottles, burger containers and plastic cups. I assume the cats and puppies are found in plastic bags at the bottom. Awful

It's nice in the day time especially in the summer but if you are over 25 then it's not worth bothering with at night. I was told I was too old by the door staff at the ripe old age of 35.

Built when the Walsall town wharf was all revamped in the 90s. The bland building, in and out, is saved by having a nice view of the canal basin. The service i had was friendly.

The pub is a haven for the young, not especially the chav kind, so i stuck out like a sore thumb, as i hadnt used Just for Men. Nobody bothered me and i didnt feel threatened

The beer was usual taps, with three Highgate kegs - MILD, bitter and lager at some cheap price. I cant comment on the beer as i had a coke and sat by the canal. It isnt aimed for people like me, i am sure the young would love it.

I did return a few weeks later and had a MILD, which was pretty poor

A very nice bar even tho no real ale is served and the building doesn't really look up to much. There is also pleasant outdoor seating by the canal. Live music often features
