Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Railway

Old-fashioned pub overlooking Pelsall Common, retaining two separate bars and doing food from a non-chain (and at least partly home-made) menu. Traditional furniture and decor in both parts (albeit less basic in the lounge than in the rather spartan public bar, as you would expect), and with a village inn atmosphere. Doom Bar, Abbot and Otter Bitter (£3.70) available from a trio of handpumps on each counter.

Decent pub with 3 ales on. We arrived just after opening (6pm) and there were already a few in ordering food. The service was fine and so was the beer. Happy to pop in again.

Open again after a closure of around a month while a few financial/tenancy issues were sorted out and after a successful Facebook campaign involving 542 supporters. Not much has changed about the place probably in the last 20 years though, which could be why this place remains popular with the people of Pelsall. It's a traditional 2 roomed local pub consisting of a bar and a lounge and a couple of benches at the front overlooking Pelsall Common. The service and the locals are friendly and welcoming (I frequent the lounge when I get the chance).

Besides the usual tap stuff there are 3 cask ales. One is usually GK Abbot. Last night the other two were Black Country Holden's Bitter and Holden's Golden Glow, priced at £2.85 per pint and today there was Wychwood Gingerbread and Adnam's Flame Runner.

Food is served between 12 and 2 and between 6pm and 8.30pm, Monday to Saturday. Food is served between noon and 6pm on a Sunday. Two main meals cost £7 and two starters or two desserts cost £4 - a bargain. I tend to go for the double sausage, double egg and chips.

There are lots of happy people now that the Railway has come back from the brink. I count myself among them.

Very sad to say that I've just heard that this fine pub is now closed. Here's hoping for a quick and successful reopening.

A yellow rendered end terrace pub, with a few benches outside, opposite the village green

The interior has two room, lounge and bar. The lounge is arranged for food and the pub does a good budget menu – I have eaten in here a number of times and always find the food decent enough. The decor is white, with a stone fireplace and there are lots of brass ornaments. The bar is in white/green walls, with darts and Sky TV and the footy is often shown. There is, as the name suggests, lots of railway memorabilia dotted about, as the old station was nearby. The service is friendly, with the clientele being a little more mature and friendly.

The beer; usual tap stuff, with Banks's MILD and Abbot Ale, Theakston's Black Bull Bitter and an excellent St Austell Tribute on handpull

I always look forward to visiting this pub, it is the best in Pelsall

Located in Pelsall opposite Pelsall Common. Good pub food for £3.99, 3 cask ales (usually Cornish Tribute, Abbot and one other) and a fairly relaxed kind of feel to the place. Good for a quiet drink in the lounge, livelier in the bar. I like it.
