Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Bell

Substantial Ember Inn with the various seating / dining areas in the partially opened-out layout now creating an islanded bar. Usual furniture and decor for the chain, but there is a larger-than-normal area for those just looking for a drink so more of a pub atmosphere than one might expect. Terrace area by the main entrance at the side. Six of eight handpumps in operation, offering a rather unexciting range including Pedigree (£3.15).

With the big change about to hit the ember inns pubs you might as well list this as closed. I hear it will be 90% Food with a small bar apparently, if the food is anything like what they serve now this has to be the worst plan in history. Out of the 2 Ember inns in walsall (This one and the Longhorn) this is the worst and clearly the dirtiest and to be honest probably rates as one of the worst I have visited in the whole chain.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Bell Inn

Yet another detached, fake beam, black and white build, Ember Inns pubco place, with beer patio.

The inside is, yet again, open plan, with salmon, cream and mustard kind of coloured interior, with strange arty pictures, vases and piles of wood in the worst kind of modern style. The seating is the eclectic mix of sofas, high and low backed leather chairs, and others with bizarre arms that left me constricted. The background music was chart stuff, there was a TV. The service was poor - a suit-boy decided to add to the round he had just purchased, while i was being served, and yes, the barmaid decided to pour it and take for it, while she was serving me (perhaps because i was in jeans). The clientele was mixed and amazingly, the place was rammed, hence my use of a constricting chair.

Beer; tap tosh, with no MILD. There were four handpulls, with Mauldons Cuckoo, GK IPA, Coach House Wizards Wonder and something i failed to note properly - i would have noted when i dropped the glass off, however, the Wizards was foul and i left.

Ember do it again, pack people into what is actually hell - i believe their new MD is Lucy Ferr. Suit boy is welcome to it. I have no need to rate anymore Ember places as they are all the same.
