Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Waggon & Horses

Very traditional pub and Toll End Brewery tap, retaining two separate bars - a comfortable lounge (with a bow window) to the right of the central entrance and a more basic room to the left. The chalkboard suggested that six different real ales were available from a total of eight handpumps divided between the two counters, but I went for the sole in-house beer: Tipton Pride (£3.00).

A large two roomed pub with a bar area straight from the 70s on the left of entrance and late 80s lounge on the right. I was expecting a good range of Toll End beers on our visit, but unfortunately there was only one to be had. This was Toll End Ode CockSparrow a 4.6% bitter at £3 a pint, which was ok, but didn't warrant a second pint.
Their other beers were Sharps Doom Bar, Hobsons Town Crier, Holdens Golden Glow, Hop Back Crop Circle, Robinsons Trouper and Hobgoblin IPA. Prices were excellent with the dearest guest beer at £3.20 and the beer condition good.

The excellent tap house for the Toll End Brewery which was established in a small out building behind the pub in 2004, the pub appears to have originally been a row of half timber cottages which were converted into a public house around 1860, the interior has two square rooms served by a central wood panel island bar counter. The left hand room is a traditional public bar with the counter along the right hand wall, a brick fire place in the middle of the left hand wall with a small stove and a large flat screen TV above, also on the left wall and towards the front of the room are two dart boards, red leather bench seats against the front and back walls with additional cast iron framed chairs, the floor is vinyl with a chess board pattern. The right hand room is a more cosy lounge with the counter along the left hand wall, red patterned fabric bench seats, red carpet, timber beams, an exposed brick wall running left to right across the middle of the room with two large openings allowing access to the back of the room where there is a brick fire place with a cast grate and large brass fire guard shaped like a shield in the right wall, the half timber walls are also painted bright red which makes this room “very red” and a bit bonkers for this kind of pub. There is a short corridor across the back of the pub which links the two rooms and also leads out to a paved courtyard and nice beer garden behind the building.

Regular ales are currently Banks’s Mild, Olde Swan Entire and Toll End Black Bridge with four changing guest ales on this visit which were Toll End Ironmaster, Retribution, Nics Stix and Worthington Autumn Shield. The Entire, Black Bridge and Retribution were all found in good condition. Toll End also brew a cask conditioned lager called Power Station which is occasionally available.

This is a brilliant traditional pub with loads of character and some interesting beers from the resident brewery. It’s difficult to find anywhere to park nearby if your driving (which is a bit daft if you’re going to visit a brew pub with 7 or 8 different real ales on) and the breweries van is usually parked out front which also makes it difficult to get a decent photo of the pub. I don’t get the chance to venture out this way very often but if I do then I would search this place out for a few drinks.

A detached pub with beer garden at the back. It looks like a row of cottages and is in cream render and black beam, with some salt glazed green tiles. There is a conservatory area with a dart board in.

The interior has two rooms, served by a central bar - to the left of the main entrance is the bar and the lounge is to the right. The bar is a square room with the serving bar taking up one side. It is in cream wall, with some coffee coloured wood panel and a white ceiling and red and orange chessboard style floor. There is a small brick fireplace. There were a couple of dart boards and a TV that wasn't on. A few trophies and pictures of the footy team adorn the walls. The music was ok and at a decent level. The lounge is in red and beam walls, with white and beam ceiling, with a red patterned carpet - slightly 80s, so i was happy. The room is nearly cut in half by an exposed brick support column an there is a brick fireplace, a few bistro style pictures and beer mats ina frame. The TV wasn't on and the music the same. Service here was really friendly and the clientele a good mixed crowd.

Beer; usual tap stuff with Theakston's Dark Smooth MILD, as well as 8 real ale pulls marked on a chalk board. Thatcher's Cider, Youngs Waggle Dance, a decent Banks's MILD, Ma Pardoe's Entire and Toll End, PA, William Perry, Lazy Pony and a decent Black Bridge.

Quality pub - feel comfy and a big choice - i could have stayed all day. I must go back - i will go back.

Outstanding local boozer just a 10 minute walk (or 2 min bus ride) from Wednesbury Parkway Metro Station. The Toll End brewery apparently closed down for a while but thankfully they are brewing again. Fantastic to sup "home brewed" beer at very reasonable prices. Excellent variety of beers brewed there. Usually sells other local beers such as Banks's and Ma Pardoes. Keep up the good work!

Typical Black Country Local which has a brewhouse to the rear. Serves its own brews and a good selection of up to 8 real ales. No car park and it can be difficult to park nearby on the road.
