Soup Dragon left this review about The Sportsman

This is a detached modern Banks's estate pub, with patio area. The pub is the large house style (with low-level extension around), this one with one long sloped side to the roof, presumably for that extra training for the piste. The pub is mainly in undressed brick, with some white and has a few bay windows to break-up the prosaic view. The interior has a couple of rooms, but i only saw the bar. This is a room mainly in cream, with a tile floor and white ceiling, with a dart board and a couple of TV's, only one being on and showing some soap. A few sport pictures are on the walls. The service was friendly and the clientele consisted of a mixed group of locals. Beer; usual tap stuff with Banks's Bitter, MILD (decent) and Shipyard Independence Ale on handpull. A better experience than i thought, as there were three real ales on - pleased i popped in for one.
