Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Rising Sun

Looks enticing from the street, and once inside you find a typical (in a good way) Black Country Inns establishment. With a front bar and side lounge both refurbished in a very traditional style, the only obviously modern elements are the electronic pump lists on each side of the central servery. A total of eight real ales were available from the ten handpumps divided between the two counters, with three of the four additional pulls on the lounge side bar-back dispensing Lilley's ciders. Three of the brewery's regular cask beers were being poured, but I went for one of the five guests: Dudley Bug from Kinver (£3.65).

Another fine example of a well kept and well run Black Country Ales pub. I headed straight for the bar side, which is on the right of entrance, where we met the friendly and charismatic landlord Malcolm, who has been manager here for ten years. We sat with the friendly locals along the front window and enjoyed supping a good few pints.
I went for the BFG and a few of the guest beers, prices were good and beer quality sublime. Hard one to leave this one.

This is a detcahed pub, with patio area. Since the last reviews, this pub was closed and noew reopened as a Black Country Ales pub. The pub itself is Victorian. It is mainly in undressed brick, but has moulding around the Romanesque. It has three Gothic roofed gables and a couple of bay windows. The interior has a couple of rooms, both in cream patterned wallpaper, red embossed wallpaper, and with white upper wall and ceiling. The bar, to the right, has red bench seats and a tiled fireplace. There is a dart board and a few prints taken from an old trade catalogue. A Butler's Ales etched glass panel is a nice feature. The serving bar has a nice wood serving bar, that had a pole on which were attached the pump-clips of the next beers to be coming on. The lounge i didn't really see, other than it to had old prints and a fireplace. There was no TV that i saw. The music was general and at a decent level. The service was very friendly and it had a clientele of more mature locals. Beer; usual tap stuff with Saltaire Amarillo Gold, Beowulf Dark Raven, Welbeck Red Feather, Gloucester Brewery's Mariner, Gun Dog Hot Dog (decent), as well as their own usual three - the Pig MILD being decent too. A cracking little pub - and one i could stay for hours in - definitely worth dropping into.

Visited last Sunday lunch and was disappointed to see the place was only a shaddow of its former glory. No customers in the bar and no real ales on sale. Didn't stop, as I have no stomach for freezing cold, processed beer.
