This original Banks's pub is now sadly badged as Marstons. It's an old food orientated pub with a central bar that has various areas around it. There is a TV in an area to the right as you enter but it was turned off. I got here just as it opened at midday so was the only customer. Although it's food orientated the menu looked like the standard Marston one, so is more Wetherspoon than Gastro.
There are six hand pumps which had one unused and sadly no Banks's offerings. The five beers were Pedigree, Marstons Courage Best & Directors & Wells Bombardier and Hobgoblin. Why a pub in Staffordshire would want to sell three rubbish beers from the old Wells brewery in Bedford is beyond me. I went for the Pedigree (£2.80) which was actually very good and reasonably priced.
I didn't stay here long before retreating to the Kinver Constitutional Club nearby.

Quite a big pub this one with lots of areas set out for dining. The staff on entry were welcoming and chatty. They had four ales on handpump, one from Enville, two Hobgoblin and a Ringwood Fortyniner. All four of us hastily picked the Enville, as we were anticipating our time to get back to the bus tour.

A large Marston's pub and eatery, in a cream render and with more front facing gables than you can shake a stick at. There is a patio area.

The interior is open plan-ish, with a food area, though you can probably eat anywhere. The decor is the mix of plain colours; red, green and white, with some brown patterned wallpaper and green wood panel - a rainbow. There were exposed beams as well. I ate, i had a mixed grill - it was ok. There were old photos of the area, juxtaposed with arty flower pictures and twigs with lights on them. The service was fine, the music was at a decent level and mixed, there was no TV that i saw and the pub was pretty busy with people eating.

Beer; tap stuff, including Banks's MILD and Banks's Bitter and Ringwood Old Thumper on handpull. Both were fine.

Not the most exciting of choices for beer, considering some of the other Kinver pubs, but this is more of an eatery really. Use it for the food, or a swifty - well that is of course just my opinion.
