Quinno _ left this review about The Swan

Nasty snot green exterior. Decent interior if a bit gloomy and not many people were in. My Birmingham BC Blonde Brummie was in decent nick (NBSS 3.5). Owned by the same people as the upmarket Red Lion down the road. GBG’23 listed. 6.5

My first visit since the takeover and quite a transformation! Different to the rather dingy basic boozer it was before. A good choice of ales with Tiny rebel Cwcth, Thornbridge Melba, Salopian Sweven and Salopian Oracle. The two we tried were excellent. Also a real cider on - Flattler. Well worth a visit.

Old Peculiar left this review about The Swan

Now owned by the same company as the Red Lion, further down Brettell Lane.
Now an open plan U shaped pub, which has been refurbished to a good standard. The outside area looks nice, too.
Quite a few beers on handpull, but the Glow was £3.60 and mediocre.
Early days for them, but even if the quality improves it's a bit expensive.

Black Country Boy left this review about The Swan

Traditional 2 roomed Black Country local with a basic bar, a plusher lounge and a nice garden to the rear, situated on the Brettell Lane pub run. The landlord Geoff has been in residence since 1985! The decor maybe a little dated for some but the ales usually 3 of them are well kept. I really like this pub, there used to be so many down to earth local boozers like this sadly they are fast becoming a dying breed. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Swan

This pub had a good jolly atmosphere, the bar staff were friendly and welcoming. There was a choice of three handpumps, so I went for the Salopian Prohibition, which was in good shape. Their other choices were Sharps Atlantic and Castle Rock Harvest Pale. I think the floral wallpaper here gives the pub a talking point, as it was mentioned before our visit. It's not to everyone's taste, but it is not loud and in your face as people make out. Pub No. 3 on our vintage bus tour.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Swan

This is an end terrace pub with a nice beer garden at the back. The frontage is in a mock-Jacobean look; being in white with some black wood, which now looks a little tired. The interior has a couple of rooms; as you enter, the old outdoor is in front of you, with the bar room to the right and the lounge to the left, all served from a central bar. The lounge as patterned flowery wallpaper, patterend perimeter seats. There is a patterned carpet too. A few statues adorn the place, with old prints on the walls. The bar is in green and white, with red lino floor, a few pictures on the walls, a dart board and a TV (not on). There was no music. The service was fine and there were a few locals in. Beer; Gundog Jack Spaniels, Wharfe Bank Fair Dunkum and Wilbur Wood Finger Print, which was decent. A nice little place with an intact interior - needs a lick of paint on the outside, but really worth a visit.

Looks totally run down from the outside, maybe even a little intimedating, its very difernt inside and a lot more comfortable than you would expect.

The decor is not really my bag, its like going into your granny's house, very floral, with flower patterned wallpaper and patterned seating. But its all very light and comfortable. There's Granny's garden outside as well.

Vary nice collection of real ales available.
