Called in to see what ales were available, and found Wadworth 6x, Marstons Wainwrights, and Salopian Shropshire Gold and we enjoyed our Shropshire Gold.

I have many very fond memories of the Mitre as it was a regular haunt of mine back in the late 80's / early 90's. It was very popular with students and a big part of the Alternative / Indie scene. they even used to have bands on in the small room upstairs! Glad to see it is still going and I always try to call in if I am nearby. 3 beers on last week - Bombardier, Amber and Exmoor Gold. The gold was fine. Worth a visit (for old times sake!)

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Mitre Inn
Large corner pub with brewers' Tudor façades and several remaining heritage features inside (including a fine dumb waiter) and thus on Camra's regional inventory. Not all of the wood-panelled interior was in active use on the evening I visited, but the pool table was doing good business and the (loud) jukebox was playing the enticingly good Sensational Alex Harvey Band as I entered. Three real ales on handpump: 6X, Adnams Mosaic and the Blonde from Blonde James Blonde.

Same two beers on the bar since Old Boots visited, TT Landlord and Enville Ginger. Mostly blokes drinking lager on our visit.

A corner pub in Brewers Tudor, internally it's V shaped with a bar down each side. The inside of course is more Brewers Tudor with all the half timber, panelling, stone fireplace, and leaded glass the original builders could muster. Other than that there are 3 pulls with Taylors Landlord on one and Enville Ginger on another, the quality wasn't up to much and some of the punters looked a bit dodgy. One of those pubs that could do better.

This is a V-shaped town centre corner pub. Likely a 30s pub, it is in the Tudor style quite popular at the time. The building is in the white and black beam look, with the lower in brick. It has a three front facing gable ends, and looks quite neat. There is a patio area. The interior has a couple of rooms served by a central bar. The lounge is to the left on entry and it had a bar footy game. The bar is to the right, which had a pool table and TVs with sport on. The decor is wood panel, red and white, with a patterned carpet. There are a couple of brick fireplaces, but little in the way of pictures or ephemera. The service was fine and the few people in were younger regulars it seemed. The music was general and at a decent level. Beer; usual tap stuuf with a decent Adnams Broadside and Bitter on handpull, as well as Enville Ginger. This place turned out to be a lot better than i expected and i would definitely visit again.
