Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Red Lion

Substantial Vintage Inn out in the countryside, but with large and busy car parks it obviously attracts a good trade. Behind the brewer's Tudor frontage, the 'L'-shaped layout has been mostly opened-out but there remain two semi-separated rooms on either side of the main entrance. There is also a compact beer garden out front. Beer-wise, just two of five handpumps in use, offering Doom Bar and (thankfully) Proper Job (£4.15).

Lovely garden to sit in and enjoyed our Everards Tiger. Very popular with a lot of food being served. Looks very clean and tidy inside, but we were enjoying our beer out in the sunshine.

Danny O'Revey left this review about The Red Lion

A Vintage Inn and follows their general pattern, flagged floor, beams, real fire, a couple of sofas near the bar, homely & with a food menu to match.

I personally love their pubs, they are very comforting, but do wish they would become more inspired with the beer choice.

This one has a lounge off to the left as you walk in then then a long thin area running back with firstly the bar and then more seating around wood tables to the end.

A lot of people were eating & we tried the food which was a little slow in getting to order but was fine when it came. I would agree with the comment below on the beer quality, in that it was very well kept.

General Staal left this review about The Red Lion

The Red Lion is part of the Vintage Inn chain.

The exterior is white rendered with black painted beams. It is Victorian in date and the interior seems to be of Arts and Crafts style. Two rooms to right and left of the entrance have been knocked into one room. Elegant tiles lead up to the bar and the two 'rooms' have wooden floors. These rooms have Arts and Crafts fireplaces in them.

There is the usual stuff with three real ales, Everard's Tiger, Pedigree and a dark, nutty, bitter. Unfortunately, I can't remember what it was called. The Tiger and the Bitter were lovely.

I had Sunday lunch in there with Mrs Staal and my in-laws after a walk round the lakes. The food was fine.

Its a pub that caters more for a middle of the range food market, more than the drinker. But I must compliment it on the quality of the two pints I had.
